Child Safeguarding Officer
We are pleased to introduce Alex Robinson as the new Child Safeguarding Officer for the Southern Raiders JSC. Alex brings a strong commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all young participants in our club.
In this role, Alex will oversee safeguarding policies, provide support and guidance, and help create a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Southern Raiders - Safeguarding Policy
The Southern Raiders Junior Soccer Club is a community-oriented club that provides a safe, inclusive environment for young players aged 5 to 16. The club emphasizes skill development, teamwork, fitness, and fun while fostering sportsmanship and a sense of belonging.
We strive to promote diversity, develop character, and bring people together in a positive and safe environment through our values of Respect, Fairness, Sportsmanship, Courage, Determination, and Resilience.
We operate consciously and systematically to create an environment where children’s safety and wellbeing is at the centre of thought, values and actions. We place emphasis on genuine engagement with and valuing of children and young people.
We create conditions that reduce the likelihood of harm to children and young people and that increases the likelihood of identifying any harm. We respond to any concerns, disclosures, allegations or suspicions of harm. As a club we adhere to the Ten National Principles for Child Safe Organisations:
1 Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.
2 Children and young people are informed about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously.
3 Families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing.
4 Equity is upheld, and diverse needs respected in policy and practice.
5 People working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice.
6 Processes to respond to complaints and concerns are child focused.
7 Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training.
8 Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children and young people to be harmed.
9 Implementation of the national child safe principles is regularly reviewed and improved.
10 Policies and procedures document how the organisation is safe for children and young people.

Working with Vulnerable People Checks
It is now a legal requirement that all sporting coaches, assistant coaches/team managers, and committee members associated with our organisation possess a current Working with Vulnerable People card.

The good news is, we are fully committed to supporting our dedicated members. The club will cover the registration fee for individuals who need to undergo this process.
We understand that this mandatory requirement may present some inconvenience, but it is imperative that we adhere to it.
